For example, teams across the organization worked to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption by tightening operational practices and improving how equipment is utilized day-to-day.
Smarter Fleet Decisions, Every Day. Rather than relying on a single solution, Marten focused on incremental improvements across the fleet. This included more disciplined equipment deployment, better alignment between freight characteristics and equipment, and thoughtful lifecycle management of tractors and trailers. Over time, these decisions added up to a fleet that moves freight more efficiently while reducing environmental impact, without compromising service or reliability.

Since 2017, Marten has completed 18 solar projects, contributing to reduced purchased electricity demand and supporting our broader sustainability strategy. Our teams are focused on responsible resource management, including water conservation and used oil recycling practices that help reduce waste and support cleaner operations. These practical changes lowered electricity and resource consumption while maintaining productivity and supporting our day-to-day work environments, proving that sustainability and operational excellence go hand in hand.

Through more intentional planning and oversight of transportation services, we reduced emissions tied to network by focusing on right-sizing solutions and eliminating inefficiencies.
